Cardinals/Pirates Game 3 Probable Starting Pitchers & MLB Odds
St. Louis Cardinals (Joe Kelly) +139
Pittsburgh Pirates (Francisco Liriano) -146
Total: 6.5

The Cardinals and the Pirates have produced eight and 10 runs over the course of the first two games of this series, and yet the ‘total’ has come screaming down to 6.5 in this one. LHP Francisco Liriano is great, but many remember his last start and that tremendous .131 batting average against number against left-handed batters. What they don’t remember is the fact that he hasn’t pitched all that remarkably aside from that.

RHP Joe Kelly had a great season, but he obviously didn’t have the confidence of Manager Mike Matheny to be in the rotation for the whole season. There’s no doubt that Kelly could be good in this one, but we don’t think that he is going to be able to keep this Pittsburgh team down to fewer than three runs in this game. If both of these starters give up three runs in this game, we’re definitely getting this one past the number, and we think that this is going to be the third straight game between these foes that get past the number in this series.

Cardinals @ Pirates Pick: Over 6.5
Cardinals @ Pirates Score Prediction: Pirates 4 – Cardinals 3
