MLB Betting Odds & Probable Starting Pitchers
St. Louis Cardinals (Michael Wacha) +136
Cincinnati Reds (Homer Bailey) -148
Total: 8.5

There is a lot of hope for the future of RHP Michael Wacha, but we aren’t all that sure that the future is right now. He has only been pitching in relief of late, and the last time that he started was back on August 10th, a game in which he only lasted five innings and threw 99 pitches. To put him on the bump in a game like this one with so much on the line is borderline insane, but it is one of the few options that Manager Mike Matheny has right now. Meanwhile, the Reds have a shot to draw another game back on the Cards in this one, and they have one of their “sometimes really hot and sometimes really not” pitchers out there in the form of RHP Homer Bailey. The good Homer Bailey allowed just five hits in 7.1 scoreless innings of work against these Cardinals last week, and the hope for Cincinnati is that he is going to shine once again in this one. The Cards are just 5-13 in their last 18 games against teams with records above .500, and that isn’t going to cut it. We have to think that this big series for Cincinnati will continue on Tuesday night.

Cardinals @ Reds Pick: Cincinnati Reds -148
Cardinals @ Reds Score Prediction: Reds 7 – Cardinals 4
