Our 2012 MLB playoffs picks continue on Tuesday night in Oakland, where the Oakland Athletics battle it out with the Detroit Tigers. Join us for our MLB predictions for what should be a remarkable Game 3 of the ALDS.

Doesn’t it just feel like a foregone conclusion that Oakland is going to get back into this series? After all, both Games and 2 really could have been won, and Game 2 probably should have been put into the win column for the men in white and green. However, as the scene shifts back to Oakland, the task for the A’s is daunting, yet clear. They have to win three games in a row in front of their hometown crowd in order to keep their season alive.

That’s why we really don’t understand why Tuesday is going to showcase the return of lefty Brett Anderson to the bump for the A’s. Anderson has been great when he has been on the mound over the course of the last few years, but he has spent just so much time on the DL and hasn’t pitched in a huge game like this one in his life. Anibal Sanchez isn’t exactly the most proven starter in the world either, knowing that he didn’t even win 10 of his 31 starts on the campaign. That being said, Sanchez isn’t a curious pick. Anderson definitely is.

The big question is whether the bullpen will be called in early for Oakland or not. To us, this is a sign of desperation for a team that hasn’t appeared desperate all year long under any circumstance. Detroit, in the end though, is the better of these two teams and the more consistent of the two clubs as well, and that’s going to be the difference. From top to bottom, we just prefer the Tigers, and we think that they are going to end this series tonight.

Detroit Tigers @ Oakland Athletics Pick: Detroit Tigers +123
