MLB Predictions: Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers

MLB Playoffs Odds: Texas -140, Over/Under 9 (o-110)
MLB Playoffs TV Schedule: FOX

There’s just something right now about the Tigers that doesn’t feel right. They feel like they exhausted everything that they had to take care of the New York Yankees in the first round of the playoffs, and now, they have to go through the rest of this series without both Delmon Young and Magglio Ordonez, both of which have been taken off of the roster for the duration of this series. Now, it’s going to be up to Max Scherzer to get the job done to avoid falling into an 0-2 rut going back to Motown. Scherzer was absolutely stunning in his first ever postseason game, as he really shut down the Bronx Bombers in a big time way. That being said, Derek Holland has pitched well as well, and not only did he do it in Game 2 as a starter against the Tampa Bay Rays, but he also did so in relief in Game 4 as well. We trust that Holland, who is now 17-5 on the season, will get the job done in this one and send this series back to Detroit with the Rangers up 2-0. Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers Game 2 Predictions: Texas Rangers -140

MLB Predictions: St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers
Date: Monday, October 10th, 8:05 ET
Location: Miller Park, Milwaukee, WI
MLB Playoffs Odds: Milwaukee -130, Over/Under 8.5 (o+105)
MLB Playoffs TV Schedule: TBS

Things for the Cardinals are getting pretty desperate after their pitching staff was decimated on Sunday night. That being said, they’ve got the man on the mound on Monday that has defied all odds over the course of his career in Edwin Jackson. No one seems to want to give Jackson a steady job, but he continues to pitch, and pitch well, and now, he is about to have the biggest start of his career. Since coming to the Cards, Jackson has started 13 games including the playoffs, and he has led the team to a 9-4 record. He is 6-2 with a 3.54 ERA as well. On the other side of the mound, Shaun Marcum is going to try to pick up his first career postseason win as well. The righty didn’t have his best stuff in Game 3 on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and we really don’t think all that much of him. Remember, in his 34 starts, he has led the team to just a 16-18 mark. This is also the only pitcher in this staff that pitched better on the road than he did at Miller Park. If there’s a game that the Cards are winning in this series on the road, this is the game. St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers Game 2 Predictions: St. Louis +130
