Year To Date Record: 3-2, +$235

MLB Predictions: Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 3:07 ET
Location: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
MLB Playoffs Odds: New York -130, Over/Under 7 (over -115)
MLB Playoffs TV Schedule: TBS

The Tigers just didn’t stand a chance against the New York lineup on Saturday in the carryover suspended game from Friday night, and you can tell that there is just no fight in this team whatsoever right now. Freddy Garcia isn’t the best pitcher in the world, but the Yankees clearly have the better team. Manager Jim Leyland badly needed this to be the day that Justin Verlander came back to pitch, as he is the only pitcher that we can really see on this staff just taking over a game and being incredibly dominating to pick up the rest of the slack of his team. That being said, virtually no matter what the price was, we had no choice but to take the Yankees, but we are getting a phenomenal price on a team that just doesn’t lose in the postseason all that often. Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees Game 2 Predictions: New York Yankees -130

MLB Predictions: Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 5:07 ET
Location: Miller Park, Milwaukee, WI
MLB Playoffs Odds: Milwaukee -150, Over/Under 7 (over -120)
MLB Playoffs TV Schedule: TBS

There was just no way that the Diamondbacks stood a shot of getting runs against Yovani Gallardo yesterday, and now, they arguably have a harder task against a guy who has never been beaten in this park. Zack Greinke probably could have won the NL Cy Young Award had he not missed the first month of the season due to injury. He went 16-6 and was a truly dominating force while pitching here at Miller Park. There are definitely two concerns in this one for the hosts. The first isn’t truly a viable complaint. Greinke has never pitched in a postseason game before, but neither has Daniel Hudson, who will be dealing for the D’Backs. The second complaint is more legitimate. Greinke pitched on Wednesday night, the final day of the regular season to pitch the Brewers to home field advantage in the playoffs. That being said, he didn’t even throw 80 pitches. That’s more than good enough for us to think that he has enough in the tank to get the job done here in Game 2. Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers Game 2 Predictions: Milwaukee Brewers -150

MLB Predictions: St. Louis Cardinals @ Philadelphia Phillies
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 8:37 ET
Location: Citizens Bank Ballpark, Philadelphia, PA
MLB Playoffs Odds: Philadelphia -170, Over/Under 7 (over -115)
MLB Playoffs TV Schedule: TBS

Remember all that talk that we had about Greinke pitching on short rest and how we didn’t think that it would be that big of an issue? This time around, we think that it’ll be that big of an issue. Chris Carpenter has more or less been forced to pitch on three days of rest thanks to how badly the Cards were outplayed in Game 1. However, parlay the fact that this bullpen was torn to shreds on Saturday by the Philadelphia offense in the latter innings and the fact that Carpenter just went the distance on Wednesday, and we surely have our doubts. Now add into the mix the fact that Cliff Lee is going to be dealing on the other side. Lee has been as dominating of a pitcher in the playoffs over the last two seasons as we have ever seen before in this era of baseball. There’s just no way that we see the hosts doing anything but taking a 2-0 series lead on Sunday. St. Louis Cardinals @ Philadelphia Phillies Game 2 Predictions: Philadelphia Phillies -170
