And now we’re down to just three games to determine the odds to win the 2011 World Series Championship. The Texas Rangers are likely facing a must win in this one, as they have to take on the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 of the Fall Classic, where the winner will be one step from a title, and the loser will be one step from elimination going back to St. Louis for Game 6.

Sometimes in life, you’re just downright wrong, and that’s what we were on Sunday for Game 4. We never picture Derek Holland tossing 8.1 shutout innings of two hit ball, but the playoffs make for some strange heroes at times, especially in this sport. If Texas were to go on and win this series, one would think that Holland would have a shot at MVP honors, as well as Mike Napoli, who hit the three run homer that really put the game away on Sunday, his second home run of the series.
Game 1 was a well pitched game all around, though neither starting pitcher lasted as long as he probably would have wanted. Now, it’s Chris Carpenter vs. CJ Wilson once again, this time with the setting being Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and not Busch Stadium. For all of the pomp and circumstance that has been given to Carpenter, he has only pitched out of the sixth inning one time in these playoffs in four starts, and that win in Game 5, as good as it was, over the Philadelphia Phillies, was his only start in which he threw 90 pitches. On the same hand, for as bad as CJ Wilson has been, his team has continued to at least stay in games with him on the mound, and if he can do just that again on Monday night, the Rangers will have a great chance to take their first lead in this series.
In the end, this is just too important for the Texas franchise to lose this game. The Rangers have to have this one, as winning two do or die games on the road is nearly impossible with a championship hanging in the balance. This is a short price at home on Texas’ best pitcher, and we plan on taking full advantage of just that. St. Louis Cardinals @ Texas Rangers Game 5 Predictions: Texas -120
