To say that Drew Hutchinson and Brian Matusz are awful pitchers is a bit of an understatement. In fairness, there is a ton of hope put in the right arm of Hutchinson for the Blue Jays, and he only made his first career start five nights ago versus the Kansas City Royals. He got the win, but he allowed eight hits and five runs over 5.1 innings of work and walked nearly as many batters (3) as he struck out (4). Matusz is 0-3 with a 7.98 ERA, and he has the same number of walks (11) as he does strikeouts (11). He only went 1-9 last year, making him a woeful 1-12 over the course of his last 15 starts. You almost have to try to be this bad. That being said, the O’s have figured out how to win the first two games of this series, and we think that they are going to get the job done again in this one. The Orioles are hot right now, and we think that they will take advantage of a rookie pitcher on the road and get the ‘W’.
