If the Rising Stars Challenge really does turn out to be a battle of the best rookies and sophomores together on the court and less like an actual All-Star Game, we really believe that Shaquille O’Neal drafted the significantly better team. He’s clearly got the two best players on the court at the same time in G Damian Lillard and G Kyrie Irving. F Kenneth Faried isn’t going to be far behind, but the backcourt for Shaq is going to be significantly deeper. O’Neal also has G Klay Thompson and G Kemba Walker to work with. Charles Barkley does have some solid interior players to work with, namely Faried, Anthony Davis, and Tristan Thompson, but here in a game where there will probably be significantly more in the way of antics than actual basketball played, particularly defensively, we would much rather have the men that can stroke it from beyond the arc the ones that are going to play stout defense. In the end, Team Shaq is awfully undersized, but that isn’t going to matter. His team is going to be able to run circles around Barkley’s bunch, and the end result really shouldn’t be all that close when push comes to shove.

Rising Stars Challenge Pick: Team Shaq -5.5
Team Shaq vs. Team Chuck Prediction: Team Shaq 135 – Team Chuck 110
