Date: Friday, January 4th, 8:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -8
Bulls vs. Heat Live TV: ESPN
One glance at the 22-8 Heat, and it is tough to see how they could be beaten by the 17-13 Bulls, especially after playing back to back close games against the Orlando Magic and the Dallas Mavericks. It feels like this should be the time that Miami comes up with one of those 110-85 wins that is never in doubt, and that’s the way that 60% of the betting public is going tonight against this eight-point spread. Matters are made worse for us by the fact that C Joakim Noah is still getting over the flu, but F LeBron James has a knee bruise as well. Both men could be equally limited, though both will be in the starting lineup tonight. The Heat have had some major problems on the boards this whole season, picking up just 39.1 rebounds per game, the second lowest total in the league. Outside of F LeBron James (8.6 RPG) and C Chris Bosh (7.7 RPG), there isn’t another man on the team that is good for even five boards per night. We’ve seen what men like C Chris Kaman and C Nikola Vucevic have been able to do over the course of the last several nights, and it’s not like those men are stars. F Luol Deng, F Carlos Boozer, and Noah could have huge nights in what might turn out to be a Chicago stunner of an upset.
Bulls @ Heat Pick: Chicago Bulls +8
Bulls @ Heat Prediction: Bulls 97 – Heat 94
