On Tuesday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Tuesday!
NBA Matchup: Boston Celtics @ Miami Heat
Date: Tuesday, December 27th, 8:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA TV Schedule: TNT
At the outset of last year, the Celtics looked like they had built the formula to be able to take down the Heat. They really just kept coming at them with defensive intensity and found ways to frustrate the big three. That being said, at the end of the year and in the playoffs when the games really counted, it was LeBron James and Dwyane Wade that really got the last laugh in, as they were the ones that were coasting past the C’s in the second round of the playoffs. We just don’t like the inside combo that Boston has to offer against Chris Bosh, and if Paul Pierce doesn’t play once again in this one with his heel injury, we tend to think that the end result won’t really be all that close. Back the Heat in their home opener to win by double digits.
NBA Pick: Miami Heat
NBA Matchup: Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers
Date: Tuesday, December 27th, 10:30 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NBA TV Schedule: TNT
Again, we have another team here in the Lakers that we just aren’t all that fond of. Lamar Odom is gone, Andrew Bynum is suspended, and aside from Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, this team just isn’t good, quite frankly, at all. LA has already played games on back to back nights, and it is set to play its third game in as many days. The offense just hasn’t figured it out yet with Head Coach Mike Brown calling the shots, and now, a Utah team that has yet to take the court this year is going to come to town and surely give the Lakers everything that they have to offer. Don’t rest on this Utah team this season. This is a deep squad that is really built to win in a season like this one. The talent is largely young and raw, but with so many players that were lottery picks on the court, you know that the ability is there to pull off the upset. Don’t be shocked if the Jazz get out of Tinseltown with another upset, which would send the Western Conference favorites to an 0-3 start.
NBA Pick: Utah Jazz
