On Thursday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Thursday!
NBA Matchup: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 10:30 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NBA Betting Odds: Los Angeles -1
NBA TV Schedule: TNT
Uh-oh, LA… There are definitely some problems in Tinseltown, and we just don’t know if they are going to get worked out. Kobe Bryant was benched in the fourth quarter a few days ago, and now, Andrew Bynum is talking about taking outside shots to prove that he has the game from the outside. This just doesn’t sound like a formula for success for Head Coach Mike Brown. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City just keeps rolling, and though it is most certainly the favorite to win the Western Conference crown this year, it is also going to need to prove to itself and to the rest of the league that it can go through the Lakers to get the job done. This is the best chance that the Thunder have had to prove a point in quite some time, especially on a relatively light night in the NBA in a nationally televised game.
NBA Pick: Oklahoma City -1
NBA Matchup: Dallas Mavericks @ Miami Heat
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 8:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -8
NBA TV Schedule: TNT
The Heat are still out for blood against the Mavericks, the team that knocked them off in the NBA Finals a season ago. In the first meeting of the year, Miami went into “Big D” and really smoked the Mavs, winning 105-94 in a game that was never really all that close. Now, the Heat are coming off of back to back losses. They also are going to have to play with a banged up LeBron James, who has a broken finger. It isn’t going to stop him from playing, and the two days that this team has had off could be just what the doctor ordered. We know that Dallas is playing great ball at the moment, but this feels like a game where the Heat are out to prove a point. LeBron – broken finger and all – could be huge in this one against a team that has been playing well defensively, and in the end, that is going to be the difference in what could be a big time Miami victory.
NBA Pick: Miami -8
