It’s time to tip off another great day of NBA betting action here at Cappers Info, and we are set to make our free basketball picks for some of the best games on the docket on Thursday, 2/23/12.

NBA Matchup: New York Knicks @ Miami Heat
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 7:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -10
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Are we going to be talking about Linsanity during the whole All-Star Break? The Knicks are one of the hottest teams in the league, but this is a very, very important game for them. If they can go on the road and beat the Heat, they won’t have just logged a win against arguably the best team in the league on their home court, but they would enter the All Star Break with a winning record, something that seemed impossible before Jeremy Lin became a folk hero in the Big Apple. We don’t know if that is going to happen, but what we do know is that these are a ton of points that are being handed to a team that is playing like it is one of the best teams in the league right now. LeBron and the gang might get the job done, but in the end, this is still a situation where we want all of those points on our side with a hot team, even on the road.

NBA Pick: New York +10

NBA Matchup: Los Angeles Lakers @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 9:30 ET
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
NBA Betting Odds: Oklahoma City -6.5
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

The Thunder are a deep team, but right now, some of their top players are still nursing some injuries. We might see James Harden back in the starting lineup on Thursday night, but we also might not see him for all that many minutes, and if that’s the case, this really does become a testament of wills between a grand total of five players. Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook could really put on a show. Kobe has been down of late for the most part, putting together a few inconsistent games as he did last night in his 4-of-15 shooting performance. That being said, we don’t think that that is how Bryant wants to go into the break. He could come up with a big time performance on Thursday night, and though it might not ultimately be enough to put the purple and gold in the win column, it should be enough to at least stick in front of this number.

NBA Pick: Los Angeles +6.5
