Beating the basketball odds is never something that is all that easy, but here at Cappers Info, we are going to be taking aim at some of the best games on the NBA TV schedule on April 29th! Don’t miss these free NBA picks!

NBA Playoffs Matchup: Utah Jazz @ San Antonio Spurs Game 1
Date: Sunday, April 29th, 1:00 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: San Antonio -10.5 (207)

The Jazz have had a good history against the Spurs, sticking inside of the number of two of the three games in this series. This is a heck of a point spread for the first game of the playoffs, knowing that San Antonio is coming off of a series last year against Memphis in which it choked in the first round and ended up getting knocked out. Though we don’t think that the boys in silver and black, with a significantly deeper team this year, will be facing the same type of embarrassment against such a young Utah team this year, we do think that the Jazz are the right play with all of these points on our side in Game 1.

NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Utah Jazz +10.5

NBA Playoffs Matchup: Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Lakers Game 1
Date: Sunday, April 29th, 3:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Los Angeles -5.5 (202)

We have a sneaking suspicion that the Nuggets are going to take one of these two games at Staples Center to start off this series. Denver doesn’t really have a team chock full of stars, but there are enough players that would be able to throw the book at Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum to keep up. Danilo Gallinari has to be a key contributor in this one, but if he can knock down some shots from the outside and the bigs like JaVale McGee and Kenneth Faried can keep up with Bynum and Gasol, the Nuggets have a real chance at the upset. We just think that this is too many points to be giving a good team that is playing really solid basketball at the moment.

NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Denver Nuggets +5.5

NBA Playoffs Matchup: Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks Game 1
Date: Sunday, April 29th, 7:00 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Atlanta -1.5 (179)

It’s not often that we say that a Game 1 is going to change the course of an entire series, but we really feel like this is the type of game that the Hawks just can’t lose. The Celtics are the higher seed, but they are going to have to play on the road to start this series out, and they are going to clearly be in their last hurrah as a competing team for a few years in all likelihood. The Hawks are deep enough to get the job done and make this series competitive even though they are the underdogs in this game, and we think that they are going to get out of Phillips Arena with a much deserved and very close victory to start this series over the weekend.

NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Atlanta Hawks -1.5

NBA Playoffs Matchup: Los Angeles Clippers @ Memphis Grizzlies Game 1
Date: Sunday, April 29th, 9:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Memphis -5 (185)

There is a real question as to whether these two teams should be sharing a court or not in the first round of the playoffs. The Clippers were the better team over the course of the first half of the year, but now that Memphis is healthy and ready to go, it is clear to us which one of these two squads is in better shape. The defenders in the interior for the Grizz are just better than that of Los Angeles, and we think that Blake Griffin could have a bit of a difficult time in this one at times. We just don’t see how the Clippers are going to come on the road and stay competitive in the first game of the postseason, and knowing how close this spread is makes it all the more enticing to take the Grizzlies.

NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Memphis Grizzlies -5
