Three Game 2s are on tap for the first night of May, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking aim at our NBA picks for the clashes that are on the docket that aren’t to be missed!
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Philadelphia 76ers @ Chicago Bulls Game 2
Date: Tuesday, May 1st, 8:00 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Chicago -6.5 (176)
The Bulls were able to blow the Sixers out of the water in Game 1 of this series at home, though we must note that they were able to do with that Derrick Rose in the lineup. Desperation is clearly going to set in now for Philly, which knows that this is going to be its best chance to steal a game on the road in this series. Losing this one would be catastrophic. Chicago knows that it is going to want to flex its muscles to get the job done against the 76ers relatively quickly to try to stay out of more injury woes for the rest of the playoffs. The Bulls are still legit, and they’ll prove it with another double-digit win on Tuesday.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Chicago Bulls -6.5
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks Game 2
Date: Tuesday, May 1st, 7:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Atlanta -4.5 (172.5)
The Celtics couldn’t hit an outside shot to save their lives in Game 1 of this series, and in the end, momentum just worked against them every step of the way in what turned out to be an ugly loss. Rajon Rondo is going to sit this one out after bumping a ref and getting suspended for this game, and it doesn’t seem like Ray Allen is going to be ready to go either. That being said, this is a scary spot for the C’s, who are going to have to go into this one with a big time hole to fill at the point guard spot. Jeff Teague, Kirk Hinrich, and the rest of the Atlanta frontcourt could have a field day, and that means that the Hawks are going to be easy winners to go up 2-0 in this series.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Atlanta Hawks -4.5
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Lakers Game 2
Date: Tuesday, May 1st, 10:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Los Angeles -5 (200)
28-7. That’s the mark that the Lakers are at home this year. We still really don’t think that the oddsmakers are giving them enough credit for having this home court advantage, especially against a Denver team that has failed to cover three in a row in this series and is typically a horrible team on the road. Simply put, if Kobe goes off for 30+ points in this one again, and the bigs continue to at least put forth good efforts, the Nuggets are in a heck of a lot of trouble, and we just don’t see that changing here at Staples Center this week.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -5
