Three clashes on the hardwood will take place on Friday night, and we are set to make our NBA playoff picks for all of the duels that are so crucial this time of year.
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics Game 3
Date: Friday, May 4th, 7:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Boston -8 (173.5)
We know that we have seen two games in this series that really haven’t finished as that close, but both encounters were competitive, and there is no reason that that should change now that the site has shifted to Beantown. We just don’t think all that much of the C’s, even though they are going to have back Rajon Rondo in this game. The Hawks are beat up badly with Zaza Pachulia, Erick Dampier, Al Horford, and Josh Smith all sitting out, but we still think that they are good enough to at least stick inside of this big time spread on the road.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Atlanta Hawks +8
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Chicago Bulls @ Philadelphia 76ers Game 3
Date: Friday, May 4th, 8:00 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Philadelphia -1.5 (179.5)
We are calling BS on the oddsmakers in this one. The 76ers were able to go on the road and win by 17 points in the second game of this series, but we just don’t think that that is going to be the case here in the City of Brotherly Love. The Bulls were able to split the two games here at the Wells Fargo Center during the regular season, and the game that they lost was one in which a ton of players sat out. Derrick Rose isn’t playing, but the rest of this team is still together. At some point, the bigs are going to step up and impose their will on Philly, and this could be the time that that happens. It is a joke in our eyes that the Bulls are underdogs in this game.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Chicago Bulls +1.5
NBA Playoffs Matchup: Los Angeles Lakers @ Denver Nuggets Game 3
Date: Friday, May 4th, 10:30 ET
NBA Playoffs Lines: Denver -4 (204)
Again, we are asking questions of the oddsmakers in this game. The Lakers were a dominating home team this year, going 26-7 in the regular season, and there have now been two wins in the playoffs as well. Sure, they weren’t as good on the road, but when you really look at it, the Nuggets went just 20-13 here at Pepsi Arena as well. The Lakers have now won four games in a row in this series dating back to the regular season, and though three of those four games were at Staples Center, we think that Denver is going to be lucky to win this game. The safer and more consistent play here in the playoffs is on Kobe and the Lakers.
NBA Playoffs Free Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +4
