There are four more games on tap in the afternoon on Friday, and we are going to look into these four clashes on the March Madness odds and make our NCAA Tournament picks for this foursome of games.
NCAA Tournament Matchup: #14 St. Bonaventure Bonnies vs. #3 Florida State Seminoles
Date: Friday, March 16th, 2:45 ET
Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, TN
March Madness Odds: Florida State -6
NCAA Tournament TV Schedule: CBS
The Bonnies really shouldn’t be in the dance, but they definitely earned their way in with the Atlantic 10 Tournament triumph. That being said, Florida State has a team that has a big time defense, and this defense has the ability to really just frustrated the A-10 champs, and that really could mean trouble for the Bonnies. They just have the tendency to turn the ball over quite a bit, and if that turns out to be the case, they just don’t have a chance. This is the type of game that Florida State could end up losing just out of sheer nonsense, knowing that this was the same squad that was beaten by Princeton and Boston College this year. Yikes. That being said, FSU is doing a heck of a lot better job right now, and the team is too hot to get clipped in this one.
NCAA Tournament Free Pick: Florida State -6
NCAA Tournament Matchup: #14 Belmont Bruins vs. #3 Georgetown Hoyas
Date: Friday, March 16th, 3:10 ET
Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH
March Madness Odds: Georgetown -4
NCAA Tournament TV Schedule: truTV
There is a heck of a lot of sentiment that Georgetown is going to get knocked out of the dance in this game, and we tend to agree with that. Belmont is a team that has a heck of a lot of talent, and this is the same squad that nearly beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium right at the outset of this year. The Hoyas still don’t have any guards, and that is what has gotten them knocked out of the dance over the last two years by VCU and Ohio, teams that they shouldn’t have had any business losing to. It’s still a creepy looking line though, knowing that a No. 14 seed is being given a tremendous chance against a No. 3 seed, and we think that that means that the Bruins are going to win this game.
NCAA Tournament Free Pick: Belmont +4
NCAA Tournament Matchup: #16 Vermont Catamounts vs. #1 North Carolina Tar Heels
Date: Friday, March 16th, 4:10 ET
Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, NC
March Madness Odds: Will Update
NCAA Tournament TV Schedule: TBS
Vermont is a team that has some decent potential, and the team put up a great fight to take care of Lamar in Dayton. That being said, we think that the Tar Heels are going to get the job done with ease. The Catamounts only took 50 shots in the win against the Cardinals, and that just isn’t going to cut it. They aren’t going to shoot 50.0 percent from the field as they did against Lamar, and if they don’t, they are going to be in a heck of a lot of trouble. There is just too much athleticism here for the Tar Heels to not win this game by at least three touchdowns regardless of whether or not John Henson plays.
NCAA Tournament Free Pick: North Carolina Tar Heels
NCAA Tournament Matchup: #15 Norfolk State Spartans vs. #2 Missouri Tigers
Date: Friday, March 16th, 4:40 ET
Location: Century Link Center, Omaha, NE
March Madness Odds: Missouri -21.5
NCAA Tournament TV Schedule: TNT
The Tigers are going to be the easy team to pick in this game, but we just aren’t sure that they are going to be able to win this game by more than three touchdowns, knowing that they are going to be looking forward to either Florida or Virginia just two days down the road. The MEAC champs are 5-1 ATS this year, and when they have had their chances for point spreads on the board, they have gotten the job done and gotten it done in fine shape. Norfolk State has the potential to score some points, and if it can find a way to get into the 60s in this one, it should be able to stick inside of this number.
NCAA Tournament Free Pick: Norfolk State +21.5
