Games like this are where teams prove that they are worthy of No. 1 rankings in America. The Blue Devils have the tag right now, and that has been a bad thing over the course of the last several weeks for various teams. They’re going to go into Miami tonight to take on the Hurricanes, who are one of the top RPI teams in America and are leading the ACC with a perfect 4-0 record. The Canes haven’t played an ‘over’ game this year, and they are only averaging a bit over 125 points per game on average this season. Duke hasn’t had an ACC game this year in which it has scored fewer than 68 points, and it hasn’t had a game against anyone in which it has scored fewer than 67. Even against a stingy defensive team like the VCU Rams, the Blue Devils finished with 125 total points on the board. We know that past history doesn’t make this series, knowing that Head Coach Jim Larranaga runs a significantly tighter ship defensive than Frank Haith used to, but these games from yesteryear have all reached at least 137 points over the course of the last five seasons. There’s no reason to think that this one doesn’t get to at least 130 tonight, especially if you’re a believe that Miami is going to hang.

Duke vs. Miami Pick: Over 128
Duke vs. Miami Prediction: Duke 69 – Miami 66
