Thursday night’s college hoops schedule is posted at Cappers Info, and we are taking a close look at some of the best games on the slate and making our NCAA basketball picks for the duels ahead.

College Basketball Matchup: Duke Blue Devils @ Florida State Seminoles
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 7:00 ET
Location: Donald L. Tucker Center, Tallahassee, FL
College Basketball Odds: Duke -1.5
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN, ESPN3.com

It just doesn’t feel like Florida State is a team that is ready to win this game more often than not. Could the Noles strike again versus a Duke team that they beat in Durham at the last second a month ago? Absolutely. However, in the end, we look at these Dookies, a bunch that has gone on the road and won in Chapel Hill against North Carolina. We know that there isn’t anything that this team can’t do, and that includes coming into Tallahassee and walking away with a victory. A No. 1 seed is right there in Duke’s grasp, and there is no reason to think that the Blue Devils are going to come up flat again in this one. More often than not, the boys in blue and white are going to trump the ones in black, garnet, and gold.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Duke -1.5

College Basketball Matchup: Wisconsin Badgers @ Iowa Hawkeyes
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 9:00 ET
Location: Carver Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City, IA
College Basketball Odds: Wisconsin -4.5
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

The Badgers need to be particularly careful about this game. Iowa is a team that is 12-5 at home this year, and it has pulled off some great results this year in conference play in this building. The real question though, is whether the defense for Wisconsin is going to be able to slow down an Iowa team that is surprisingly averaging 73.6 points per game. We do see some great potential here in the Hawkeyes, and we could at least see how an upset could happen, but in the end, we think that the Badgers are winning this one by at least a half dozen more often than not.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Wisconsin -4.5

College Basketball Matchup: Louisville Cardinals @ Cincinnati Bearcats
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 9:00 ET
Location: Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati, OH
College Basketball Odds: Cincinnati -2
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN, ESPN3.com

The Bearcats are headed in the right direction right now, but this is the type of game that they are going to have to win if they are going to go dancing this year. These two teams are both 9-5 in conference play, though that is about where the similarities stop. In the end, we tend to prefer the Redbirds in this one. They are simply a better team with a lot of spunk, and they have won some crucial games on the road this year. That’s why the Cards are ranked in the Top 25 and are already going dancing and the Bearcats are going to be sweating right down to the last second on Selection Sunday.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Louisville +1.5

College Basketball Matchup: Alabama Crimson Tide @ Arkansas Razorbacks
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 7:00 ET
Location: Bud Walton Arena, Fayetteville, AR
College Basketball Odds: Arkansas -2
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

We just love bubble basketball. Arkansas knows that it is probably finished in its chase for the NCAA Tournament, while Alabama is still trying to make sure that it has nothing to sweat out on Selection Sunday. The Tide are still playing without some of their best players, including Tony Mitchell, but with the way that the rest of the bubble has been playing this year, they have survived the bulk of the problems. Don’t be shocked if an Alabama team that is a heck of a lot more talented than you think from top to bottom, comes out and puts one last fork in Arkansas’ season on Thursday night.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Alabama +2

College Basketball Matchup: BYU Cougars @ Gonzaga Bulldogs
Date: Thursday, February 23rd, 11:00 ET
Location: McCarthey Athletic Center, Spokane, WA
College Basketball Odds: Gonzaga -6
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

Gonzaga has a great team at its disposal, but this isn’t a great matchup against BYU. The Cougars are rolling right now, and they are the only ones of the WCC powers that haven’t taken a bad tumble in the last week or so. Their great run started with an upset against these Zags that seemed to be a pre-requisite just to stay on the bubble. Now, a win on the road would probably end the bubble discussion in its entirety for BYU; it would be in the field with a victory, likely without all that much sweating. The Cougars might not get the job done to the point that they are hoping for, but in the end, this is a heck of a lot of points to be giving them against the Bulldogs, even if this game is being played in the Kennel.

NCAA Basketball Pick: BYU +6
