Friday is a big day for some of the teams from the little conferences that are trying to make pushes with the big boys to get into the NCAA Tournament. Thursday was a nice day, knowing that all sorts of teams in bubble trouble were beaten, which could leave the door open for the 24-5 Zips to dance. We would have felt better had they not lost to Buffalo last week, but we think that that mistake is the last one they will make this year. Of course, winning the MAC would be the key to automatically getting into the NCAA Tournament, but we have to think that winning this game and then going on to the MAC Final will get the job done as well. Why? Because C Zeke Marshall and F Demetrius Treadwell are monsters. These are the top two scorers and the top two rebounders on the team, and they are going to make no mistakes tonight against an undersized set of Golden Flashes. The first time these two teams met up, these two combined for 32 points and 27 boards in a second half rally that sent the Zips to a four-point victory. If the big boys do that once again, the Flashes are going to get run off of the court on Senior Night in Akron.

Kent State vs. Akron Pick: Akron Zips -8.5
Kent State vs. Akron Prediction: Akron 75 – Kent State 65
