We flat out love Iona on Monday night to finish off the Metro Atlantic Tournament in style this year. The Gaels came to the Mass Mutual Center last year with one of the best mid-major resumes in the nation. They failed and failed miserably in the final, dropping to the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds, and they were fortunate just to get into the NCAA Tournament as one of the last four teams in the field. Now, Iona and its high flying offense are back in the final once again, and there is a major score to settle with the rest of this conference. The Gaels lost a ton of games this year by less than two baskets, and they are in dire need to make up for it at this point. The oddsmakers knew that they were the best team in this tournament when they were favored over the top seeded Niagara Purple Eagles in the semifinals last night. Manhattan is a nice story at 14-17, and it is going to get a lot of bets due to the fact that it is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 and 15-4 ATS in its last 19 games. Plus, seeing the Liberty Flames win the Big South on Sunday will help as well. However, if we’re being real, we recognize who the better of these two teams is by a country mile. G Lamont Jones and the Gaels are going to strap on their dancing shoes once again.

Manhattan vs. Iona Pick: Iona Gaels
MAAC Final Prediction: Iona 76 – Manhattan 67
