Both the Golden Gophers and the Wolverines are ranked in the Top 10 in the country. Neither has lost a home game this year, and both have only suffered losses to some fellow remarkable teams. The Wolverines were slowed down by the Ohio State Buckeyes over the weekend, proving that they can be had if teams can crack down defensively. That’s generally something that the Gophers do really well, though it didn’t look it in an 88-81 loss to the Indiana Hoosiers last weekend. Minnesota plays a different type of defense that we think is going to work well against Big Blue. The team just doesn’t get outrebounded by anyone, as it is managing a +14.8 in rebounding margin per game this year, and opponents are only shooting 38.7 percent from the field against it. All five players on the court at all times are lanky and athletic, and that’s what can really be a pain in this one. Michigan has the talent to shoot around all of this athleticism, but it’s going to take a superb shooting day to win this game. We have a lot more faith that there are more ways the Golden Gophers can win this game.

Michigan vs. Minnesota Pick: Minnesota Golden Gophers
Michigan vs. Minnesota Prediction: Minnesota 70 – Michigan 61
