Conference tournament time is here, and our college basketball picks are as important as ever before! Check out the teams that we think are going to be dancing with our NCAA basketball picks for the conference tourney finals and the rest of the big time games on the Monday night docket!

College Basketball Matchup: Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. St. Mary’s Gaels
Date: Monday, March 5th, 9:00 ET
Location: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
College Basketball Odds: Gonzaga -1.5
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN, ESPN3.com

This is a very interesting matchup in the West Coast Conference. We tend to think that the team that is better suited to make a run in the dance is St. Mary’s with the way that it flies up and down the court and has some great guards like Matthew Dellavedova. That being said, Gonzaga is the better team in this matchup though, as the likes of Robert Sacre and Elias Harris can neutralize Rob Jones for the Gaels. If that’s how this one plays out, the battle for the WCC auto bid will go to the Zags in Sin City.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Gonzaga -1.5

College Basketball Matchup: Virginia Commonwealth Rams vs. Drexel Dragons
Date: Monday, March 5th, 7:00 ET
Location: Richmond Coliseum, Richmond, VA
College Basketball Odds: No Line
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN, ESPN3.com

You aren’t going to find a heck of a lot more important battle than this one on Monday night. Both Drexel and VCU have claims to the NCAA Tournament right now, as the two CAA teams have great records in spite of the fact that they have pathetic computer numbers. VCU does have two wins over George Mason of late, and it also has the fact that it went from the First Four to the Final Four last year. Drexel hasn’t been beaten since January 2nd. That being said, we do think that the defense for the Dragons is going to get the job done, and we think that many are going to be sucked into the name that goes with the Rams instead of just backing the better team. This one really should be a great fight though, and as far as we are concerned, this is can’t miss TV.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Drexel Dragons

College Basketball Matchup: Fairfield Stags vs. Loyola Maryland Greyhounds
Date: Monday, March 5th, 7:00 ET
Location: Mass Mutual Center, Springfield, MA
College Basketball Odds: No Line
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

The Greyhounds have only been to the NCAA Tournament once in their history, and they are going to want to build upon that one on Monday for sure. Amazingly enough, Fairfield was able to bounce Iona from the MAAC Tournament, but we know that in order to take down the best team, it has to take your best effort. Credit the Stags for making it this far without Derek Needham in the fold, but if he can’t get back out there with his foot injury, we just don’t think that Rakim Sanders can do this by himself against what has been an underrated bunch of Greyhounds all year long.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Loyola Maryland Greyhounds

College Basketball Matchup: Western Carolina Catamounts vs. Davidson Wildcats
Date: Monday, March 5th, 9:00 ET
Location: US Cellular Arena, Milwaukee, WI
College Basketball Odds: No Line
College Basketball TV Schedule: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

Immediately, there is going to be a lot of faith put into the Wildcats, who really haven’t had that much of a tough time here in the SoCon Tournament. That being said, Western Carolina is going to get a bad rap for the fact that it is a .500 team (and up to a .500 team after the conference tourney at that). However, this is a squad that has been on a roll and has been rolling up some big time point totals in these wins. If the Catamounts can get the job done on the offensive side of the court, this might be a heck of a lot closer game than the pundits expect.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Western Carolina Catamounts
