The Tar Heels and Wolfpack should have never really gotten this close to each other this year. Many figured that this would be a down year for the men in Carolina Blue, and relatively speaking, it has been. The team really doesn’t have a great computer profile, there are some suspect losses in the bunch, and all in all, it might be a struggle just to get into the NCAA Tournament this year. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack were a preseason Top 10 team and were figured to challenge for the Final Four this year. There are some good wins, but of late, there have been some puzzling and troubling results as well. Any team that has six men that can all put up double digits every single night has to be considered dangerous, and perhaps NC State will turn out to be that team. However, with back to back failed attempts at covers and a bad loss against Maryland in the mix just before that, we aren’t so sure that the Pack are worth backing. Go with a UNC team that has won 13 in a row in this series to pull off the upset on Saturday night on Tobacco Road.

North Carolina vs. NC State Pick: North Carolina Tar Heels +5.5
North Carolina vs. NC State Prediction: North Carolina 72 – NC State 70
