The Pioneers and the Bobcats did everything that they could to get into the NCAA Tournament, and in the end, they both probably only just ended up getting into the NIT instead. Ohio is a very underrated team out of the MAC. This is largely the same club that played in the NCAA Tournament last year and beat the Michigan Wolverines. Denver is a fantastic home team for understandable reasons, namely that most teams have no clue what they’re getting into when it comes to the altitude here in Denver. The Pioneers are 7-2 ATS in their last home games and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall. However, when we look at these two teams, we think that this is an awfully tricky line that doesn’t make much sense. Denver played in the more inferior of the two conferences. It played the worse non-conference schedule. It has a worse overall record. Yet it is favored by a touchdown? Giving the Pioneers the nod by three or four points is one thing, but seven is something totally different. We wouldn’t be shocked if the Bobcats won this game, but we are certainly taking the points.

Ohio vs. Denver Pick: Ohio Bobcats +7
Round 1 NIT Predictions: Denver 68 – Ohio 65
