The NIT is going to continue once again on Monday afternoon with a three-pack of games that you are going to want to add to the slate of things to watch tonight. Check out our NIT predictions for the three games on TV on the ESPN family of networks to start up your week!

NIT Matchup: #5 Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders vs. #1 Tennessee Volunteers
Date: Monday, March 19th, 7:00 ET
Location: Thompson Boling Arena, Knoxville, TN
NIT Odds: Tennessee -5
NIT TV Schedule: ESPN

MTSU got the job done that it needed to do with its game against Oral Roberts, but this is going to be a significantly different challenge going up against a Tennessee team that probably should have been in the NCAA Tournament with as well as it is playing right now. The Vols have stormed right through the beginning of the NIT, and there is no doubt that they have done well for the duration of the second half of the season. Though the Blue Raiders put up a good record this year, we still really don’t have all that much confidence that they can get the job done in this one, and though UT clearly has the potential to fall by the wayside as some of the other top dogs have in this tournament, we still think that this is going to be the team to beat for the rest of the way until we get to Madison Square Garden.

NIT Free Pick: Tennessee -5

NIT Matchup: #6 Minnesota Golden Gophers @ #2 Miami Hurricanes
Date: Monday, March 19th, 9:00 ET
Location: Bank Atlantic Center, Sunrise, FL
NIT Odds: Miami -5
NIT TV Schedule: ESPN

The Golden Gophers surprisingly looked pretty darn good in their first round NIT victory, and they are now suddenly becoming a team to be reckoned with in this tourney. This is a team that has plenty of talent, though it did run into some hard times in the very difficult Big Ten this year. The ACC has had a very mixed bag of results in the postseason as a whole, and we aren’t so sure what to think of the Canes, a team that remains wildly inconsistent. The Gophers have some direction right now, and though we aren’t sure that they are going to be able to pull off the upset in South Beach, we definitely want the points on our side in this one.

NIT Free Pick: Minnesota -5

NIT Matchup: #7 Illinois State Redbirds @ #3 Stanford Cardinal
Date: Monday, March 19th, 11:30 ET
Location: Maples Pavilion, Palo Alto, CA
NIT Odds: Stanford -7.5
NIT TV Schedule: ESPN2

Should Stanford really be favored by a touchdown against any team that is still standing in the NIT this year? We tend to think that the Cardinal might be the worst team still in the tournament bar none, and though it is going to be quite difficult for the Redbirds to come all the way to the West Coast and pick up a victory, we know that the Missouri Valley Conference has done quite well in the postseason. There is a reason that this team fields so many postseason teams every single year, as their successes just continue to build up. The Cardinal don’t know what is about to hit them on Monday night. We think that this will be their final game of the season, as this is going to be a rather large upset in our eyes.

NIT Free Pick: Illinois State +7.5
