Valentine’s Day night should be an interesting one at the ‘Ville. This is where we are going to see whether the Cardinals can get back up off of the mat after losing in quintuple overtime against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. Head Coach Rick Pitino is going to have to give the team plenty of time off, knowing that five men played at least 41 minutes, and three played at least 52 minutes. G Russ Smith has to get back on the horse after essentially losing his mind in all of the overtime periods against the Irish as well, and that might be the tougher task. St. John’s has a good team, and we think that it is going to be getting far too many points in this one. We’re not saying that the Johnnies are going to come to town and beat the Cardinals, but we do think that they can hang. The reason that they were busted on Sunday by the Syracuse Orange is because of the fact that the foes at the Carrier Dome were clearly on a high, getting F James Southerland back in the lineup for the first time in a month. Louisville will have the opposite problem on Thursday, and it could get snuck up on as a result.

St. John’s vs. Louisville Pick: St. John’s Red Storm +17
St. John’s vs. Louisville Prediction: Louisville 68 – St. John’s 63
