This is going to be one of the biggest games of the year in the Big East, as the Cardinals try to flex their muscles against another elite team in the league. We already know that Louisville can do it all. G Peyton Siva and G Russ Smith are great scorers, and C Gorgui Dieng can man the paint like none other in the conference. The question is whether the patented 2-3 zone for the Orange can frustrate the ‘Ville. Recent history suggests that it can and will. The Cardinals were held to just a total of 100 points in their last two games against the Orange. This is still a solid team, even without F James Southerland in the fold. G Brandon Triche and F CJ Fair are the two experienced scorers, but the key is going to be how G Michael Carter-Williams handles the pressure. Odds have it, he’ll be just fine. The sophomore has rounded into a great point guard, and he is averaging 11.9 points, 9.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game, and all of that comes against just 3.6 turnovers per night. We think that the Orange are going to be the team to come out fighting in this one, and though they won’t ultimately win the game, they will keep this one very close for the full 40 minutes.

Syracuse vs. Louisville Pick: Syracuse Orange
Syracuse vs. Louisville Prediction: Louisville 68 – Syracuse 66
