Saturday’s LSU vs Alabama NCAA Football Analysis: For the first time in years, LSU versus Alabama isn’t even the game of the week in college football this week.  There’s a long line of teams waiting for Alabama to lose a game this season, and LSU is one of the only challenges remaining on their schedule.  On paper, these two teams couldn’t be any more similar.  LSU averages 40 points per game, Alabama 41 and both are top 30 running the football.  LSU is coming into this game with two losses already, one to Georgia and one to Mississippi making them the only two loss team in the top ten.  In recent years this game has been very close and LSU has won two of the last three.  This one should be much less of a struggle for the two offenses, as both are much improved this season.  Alabama QB AJ McCarron has gone from a game manager to a play maker and TJ Yeldon is next in a long line of NFL caliber Alabama running backs.  If LSU is going to win this game in Alabama they’re going to need to run the ball, which nobody has done against the Alabama defense.  The Tigers lead the SEC with 28 rushing touchdowns but it will be shocking if they get more than one in this game.  That leaves the scoring in the hands of senior QB Zach Mettenberger who has had a great senior season aside from a 3 interception game in Oxford a few weeks ago.  Aside from Johnny Manziel, Alabama has allowed one passing touchdown this season with eight interceptions.  Alabama has too many advantages on both sides of the ball not to win this game handedly at home for the first time in seven years. They don’t do the things that a double digit road dog needs them to do to have a chance, fewest sacks allowed and second fewest turnovers in the SEC and that is going it make it very hard for LSU to beat them.
LSU at Alabama NCAA Football Picks: Alabama -11.5 and under 55
LSU at Alabama Game Prediction: 31-17 Alabama
What to expect in this week 11 NCAA Football match up:
Alabama’s run defense will force Mettenberger into obvious passing third downs and their line backers will tee off on the LSU offensive line.  As the season has gone on Alabama’s defense has gotten better and better, and without any serious talent at the skill positions like Texas A&M has, LSU won’t score enough points to keep up in this game.  Offensively, Alabama will have more success running the ball as the game goes on and AJ McCarron will make a few big plays which will be all they will need to win as their defense carries them to victory.
