Matchup: Texas A&M at South Carolina (-10 at JustBet) 6:00 PM EST
Preview: This will mark the first time these two programs have met in the SEC. What’s different about each team? Well, actually a lot. I believe Texas A&M will take a step back this season as they have 3 key elements gone on offense in QB Johnny Manziel, WR LT Jake Matthews who all went into the NFL. This is the first meeting between the schools and I think the defense of South Carolina will limit A&M in what will be a raucous crowd in Columbia. The Gamecocks might have lost Connor Shaw but an experienced Dylan Thompson is in at QB and more than capable of guiding the offense. Jadaveon Clowney is gone yet the defensive line is still strong has some experience. South Carolina has the edge in the trenches and overall experience. I’m laying the points with South Carolina, who have won 7 consecutive home openers by an average of 22 ppg.
Week 1 Pick (for Thursday, 8/28/2014): South Carolina -10
Final Score Prediction: South Carolina 31 – Texas A&M 14
