The time is here that we have to realize that the Trojans just aren’t all that good. They might make a bowl game this year, and they might not make a bowl game this year. Neither would be all that surprising. We saw WR Marqise Lee get hurt last week, and we still haven’t seen RB Silas Redd take a snap all season long. When you’re talking about being short of scholarships by a huge margin, something that so many forget, injuries to key players are devastating. QB Cody Kessler has stunk, and the defense, though had played well in the first four games of the season, allowed gobs of points against the Arizona State Sun Devils two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Arizona really hasn’t played many games of this quality yet. The team did lose to the Washington Huskies two weeks ago, but it played a lot better over the course of the first few games of the year against significantly lesser teams. QB BJ Denker knows that he has to play the game of his life to win this one, and though he has yet to prove it this year, we think that he has the talent to do it. USC has had all sorts of problems dealing with mobile quarterbacks over the course of the last year and a half, and this isn’t going to be anything different. We like Denker to go off for at least 150 passing yards and over 100 rushing yards, and RB Ka’Deem Carey will do the rest.
Arizona vs. USC Pick: Arizona Wildcats +6
Arizona @ USC Score Prediction: Arizona 41 – USC 27
