The argument could be made that this is a totally useless game, knowing that these are the two teams that should very well be meeting one another in the Mountain West Championship Game in December. That being said, Fresno State still has a very realistic chance to bust the BCS in this game, and it isn’t going to be taking anything for granted, especially here on its home field. The time though, is perfect to finally start successfully fading Boise State on the college football odds in one of these primetime games.
They say that the quarterback position determines so much of what a team does, and if that’s the case, we have a lot more confidence in QB Derek Carr than we do in QB Joe Southwick. Southwick, for our money, is the worst signal caller that we have seen at Boise State since Jared Zabransky helped put the team on the map. Carr meanwhile, has already thrown for 661 yards and eight TDs against just one pick. The Broncos are never afraid to go on the road, and they aren’t going to be intimidated by this game, but with the way that Southwick played in Week 1 against the Washington Huskies, we don’t see things getting any better this time around against a very good Fresno State outfit that is out to make its proclamation to the college football betting world that it indeed is deserving of its brand new Top 25 ranking.
