USC Trojans at Oregon State Beavers
Date and Time: Friday 11/1/13 at 9:00pm on ESPN2
Game Line: Oregon State -4 (from JustBet)
Friday NCAA Football Analysis: Oregon State lost their biggest challenge of the season to Stanford 20-12 at home last Saturday. Now they have to bounce back for a Friday Night showdown with USC. Stanford was able to completely contain the Oregon State offense by bringing a variety of blitzes and getting pressure on quarterback Sean Mannion and destroying his offensive line. USC has a very similar defensive style with many different blitz packages and a strong front seven that will hope to do the same. Sean Mannion is one of the best quarterbacks in the country when he has time to scan the field and throw the ball with 30 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions this season. The Beavers pass protection will be the most important factor in them winning this game. USC is also a battered team in heading into this game without star receiver Marqise Lee or senior LB Morgan Breslin. USC has a very strong defense, allowing just 18 points per game but Oregon State is coming into this game after their worst offensive output this season and Mannion is an elite level quarterback. USC’s stats and record is a little inflated, losing to all of the good teams they’ve played and man handling all of the bad teams they should beat. Oregon State also has one of the biggest home field advantages in the country in Corvallis where USC hasn’t had any recent success. Offensively, USC will really struggle and Oregon State will get enough big passing plays to win this game at home.

USC State at Oregon State Game Prediction: 30-20 Oregon State
What to expect in this week 9 NCAA Football match up: Oregon State’s offense will look much better against the USC defense than it did against Stanford. A team is never as good or as bad as they played the week before, and the Oregon State passing attack is still one of the best in the country. USC’s offense is not very good without Marqise Lee and they will turn the ball over on the road in prime time. The quarterback play will make the difference in a game where Oregon State takes an early lead and never looks back.
