Week 2 College Football Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Arizona State Sun Devils
Date: Saturday, September 8th, 10:30 ET
Location: Sun Devil Stadium, Tucson, AZ
CFB Betting Odds: Arizona State -4
Illinois vs. Arizona State Live TV: ESPN

Last year, these two teams played in what amounted to be quite the ugly 17-14 game in which the two teams only barely combined for 600 total yards. This time around, we might see a heck of a lot more of the same, especially since Arizona State now has largely an entirely new offense. Western Michigan was able to hold the Illini down to just 248 total yards of offense last week in the opening game of the season, and that was a true shock to say the least. Yes, the Illini covered the college football pointspread in that game, but in the end, the performance wasn’t nearly smashing. In fact, dating back to last year, the Illini have played in eight straight games that have featured 45 points or fewer hitting the board. The Sun Devils did blow out Northern Arizona last week 63-6, but that was a suspect FCS team, not a hardnosed Big Ten team that has a lot to prove coming on the road. Expect to see these two struggle to get points on the board in what should be a defensive game.

Illinois @ Arizona State Pick: Illinois/Arizona State Under 48
Illinois @ Arizona State Score Prediction: Arizona State 20 – Illinois 16
