Virtually every single Boise State game is exactly the same. Either you want to bet that the Broncos are totally going to show up and romp their foe, in which case, there is nothing you can do about it, or you bet that they are just going to fall flat and not seem that interested about the game. This time around, we’re not all that sure how interested they truly are.
QB Kellen Moore and the gang played extremely well for three quarters last week against the Nevada Wolf Pack, but in the end, 10 unanswered points cost the team its cover and made the 30-10 final look a lot more respectable than perhaps it should have been. With MWC games on the horizon, it’s not hard to think that these Broncos won’t be taking the Bulldogs all that seriously.
This is the game that Head Coach Pat Hill and company have been waiting for all season long. RB Robbie Rouse hasn’t had a good career against Boise State, and he’s going to look to make amends for all of that on Friday night. The question isn’t whether Fresno State is going to score, though — at 30.6 points per game, this is one of the best offenses that Boise State has run up against all season long. The real question is whether a defense which is allowing over 32 points per game can have any success. We tend to think that it will, in modest form… at least enough to stick within three touchdowns anyway.
