College football betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NCAA football picks this year, continuing with action on Saturday, October 8th!

Year To Date Record: 31-27 ATS

Upset Record: 6-10 +$90

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Vanderbilt Commodores @ Alabama Crimson Tide
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 7:00 ET
Location: Bryant Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL
College Football Lines: Alabama -29
Over/Under 41.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

The Dores have a history of keeping this series relatively close. No, there’s no shot of pulling off an upset, but if you look back at the past several games against these teams… Alabama has winning margins of 14 (2007), 3 (2006), 22 (2002), 3 (2001), 18 (2000), 11 (1999), 25 (1998), 20 (1997), 10 (1996), and 8 (1995). Notice that none of those are greater than 29? Sure, Vandy got smacked last week at South Carolina, but we saw that coming after the Gamecocks were beaten by Auburn the week before. This time around, QB Larry Smith and the gang should be able to hang within about 21 or so of Alabama, especially since the Tide are off of that emotional win against Florida in the Swamp.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Vanderbilt +29

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Boston College Eagles @ Clemson Tigers
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 3:00 ET
Location: Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC
College Football Lines: Clemson -21
Over/Under 53
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ACC Network

No, we haven’t actually gone certifiably insane. Yes, we’re really going to back lowly Boston College in a game. At this point, this is just about market correction. There’s just no way… no way possible… that Clemson could be 21 points better than anyone in the ACC. Hopes are high in Death Valley right now for these Tigers, knowing that they are up to the No. 8 team in the country. Boston College is as low as low could get after another brutal loss at home in the ACC to Wake Forest last week. Still, we love that this is a team that scraps hard every single time out there, and it never gives up in a game. The Eagles will keep this within just over two touchdowns, but certainly not more than three.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Boston College +21

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Pittsburgh Panthers @ Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 3:30 ET
Location: Rutgers Stadium, Piscataway, NJ
College Football Lines: Pittsburgh -7
Over/Under 53
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

We just don’t know where the offense is coming from in this game. U-Pitt only really has a ground game to contend with. Sure, it’s a great running game with RB Ray Graham toting the rock, but Rutgers is only allowing 82.8 yards per game on the ground, one of the best marks in the Big East. On top of that, Head Coach Greg Schiano just doesn’t know what he is going to do at the quarterback spot this week, as none of his options are really all that great. It took overtime just to get the Syracuse/Rutgers game last week into the 30s, and we tend to think that this is going to be a brutal one for a full 60 minutes as well.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Pittsburgh/Rutgers Under 53

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Army Black Knights @ Miami Redhawks
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 1:00 ET
Location: Fred Yager Stadium, Oxford, OH
College Football Lines: Army -2
Over/Under 49
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

QB Zac Dysert and the Redhawks have reverted back to the form that they were in two years ago when they were a 1-11 club and were as bad as it gets in a bad MAC conference. Sure, they won the conference crown last year, but then Head Coach Mike Haywood left, and the team has gone back to being lousy. Army isn’t all that great, but at least QB Trent Steelman and this offense have found ways to consistently put points on the board this year. The only loss that really concerns us is the one at Ball State, but we’re not so sure that this Miami team isn’t worse than the Cardinals this year. If the Black Knights are going bowling this year, this is a game that they absolutely have to win.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Army -2

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Auburn Tigers @ Arkansas Razorbacks
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 7:00 ET
Location: Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR
College Football Lines: Arkansas -10
Over/Under 63.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

Auburn had its week in the sun, but it’s all going to come crashing down this week. If this defense couldn’t stop the Hogs last year with QB Tyler Wilson coming off of the bench to throw for over 400 yards in front of the War Eagle faithful, how on earth is it going to stop him this year in Fayetteville? We buy into Arkansas as a potential National Championship dark horse at this point, and we just don’t see the Tigers being able to hang around in this one for all that long. We tend to lean towards the ‘over’, but the number is just too high for us. Instead, we’ll rally around the hosts to win by double digits.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Arkansas -10

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Maryland Terrapins @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 12:00 ET
Location: Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta, GA
College Football Lines: Georgia Tech -15.5
Over/Under 63.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

Another market overcompensation. The whole world is on the Georgia Tech bandwagon right now, but we still think that this team is a year or two away from being a legit National Championship contender. Now, we do have a real, real concern with this Maryland team, and that’s with the 38-7 romp loss at home against Temple two weeks ago. However, there was a “get better” game against Towson last week, and now, this club should be back and ready to go. Head Coach Randy Edsall has his team playing sound football in spite of the fact that it isn’t nearly the most talented side in the ACC. All you need to do is be sound against this triple option, which the Terps have essentially spent three weeks try to master defensively. Take the points with the Turtles.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Maryland +15.5

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Colorado Buffaloes @ Stanford Cardinal
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 7:30 ET
Location: Stanford Stadium, Palo Alto, CA
College Football Lines: Stanford -29.5
Over/Under 61
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

The Buffaloes are bad… really, really, really bad. There’s just no way that we see this team really being able to even remotely hang around with the Cardinal, as we know that QB Tyler Hansen is completely overmatched. Stanford has had seven straight games with at least 37 points scored, and if that remains the case this week (and there’s no reason that it won’t), this should be a big, big victory for the hosts.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Stanford -29.5

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 3:30 ET
Location: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, VA
College Football Lines: Virginia Tech -7
Over/Under 45
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN3.com

Thanks for nothing last week, Virginia Tech. The Hokies got their doors absolutely blown off by Clemson at home, and now, if they don’t win this one, they probably have no shot of winning the ACC this year. That being said, we still don’t really think that Miami is all that special this year, and the Hurricanes have already been beaten down once on the road by an ACC foe this year after their trip to Maryland. Sure, the suspended players are starting to trickle back onto the team, but it doesn’t make a difference. There is clearly a class difference between these two clubs.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Virginia Tech -7

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Marshall Thundering Herd @ UCF Knights
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 7:00 ET
Location: Bright House Networks Stadium, Orlando, FL
College Football Lines: UCF -19
Over/Under 43.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

Over the course of this season, Marshall has already covered big time numbers against Virginia Tech and West Virginia, and it has beaten Louisville and Southern Miss as big time underdogs. We don’t really think that the Knights are going to get beaten outright in this game, but considering how much running the football should be going on, we’re not optimistic about them being able to cover three scores. QB Jeff Godfrey still is without a touchdown pass through four games this year, and we don’t think that 14 days to prepare for this game is going to make that stat look all that much better. In the end, we think that the Herd are going to make a statement that they have the ability to compete with some of the big boys in Conference USA this year. They won’t win it, but they’ll make it interesting in Orlando for sure.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Marshall +19

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Kansas Jayhawks @ Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 3:30 ET
Location: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
College Football Lines: Oklahoma State -31
Over/Under 73
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

It’s a square game… in fact, it’s a really, really square game. That being said, we just have no way of seeing how Kansas is even remotely going to be able to hang in this game. This is a defense that had over 700 yards dropped on it against Georgia Tech, and now it plays an offense that is even higher octane and does a lot more throwing the football than anything else. WR Justin Blackmon could have four or five trips to the end zone when it’s said and done, and it’s anyone’s guess what type of video game numbers that QB Brandon Weeden is going to end up accounting for when it’s said and done.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Oklahoma State -31

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Florida State Seminoles @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 12:30 ET
Location: BB&T Field, Winston Salem, NC
College Football Lines: Florida State -10.5
Over/Under 51.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

In the end, this is just the same old Florida State team that we have gotten used to talking about over the years, not this one that has been posing as a Top 5 team in the country for the past few weeks. Wake Forest is a bowl team this year, which is nothing like what it has been the past two seasons. All the youth that has been installed into this program finally has some lift to it, as there are a slew of sophomores and juniors that are hungry for victories. It’s still up in the air whether QB EJ Manuel will give this a go for FSU or not, but regardless of whether he plays, we tend to think that the Deacs are the right side.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: Wake Forest +10.5

Week 6 College Football Matchup: Florida Gators @ LSU Tigers
Date: Saturday, October 8th, 3:30 ET
Location: Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA
College Football Lines: LSU -13.5
Over/Under 42.5
Week 6 College Football TV Schedule: CBS

It’s just not fair that the Gators have had to play against Alabama and LSU in back to back weeks, especially knowing that this week, it is QB Jeff Driskel, a true freshman that is going to be going on the road for the first time in his career. Yikes. Sorry, Gators. We just don’t see any way, regardless of what type of day that RBs Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps have, that you’re going to be able to stick around with the Bayou Bengals.

Week 6 NCAA Football Pick: LSU -13.5
