Week 2 College Football Picks: Nebraska Cornhuskers @ UCLA Bruins

Location: Rose Bowl Stadium, Los Angeles, CA
CFB Betting Odds: Nebraska -5.5
Nebraska vs. UCLA Live TV: FOX
This is a tricky, tricky spot for the Cornhuskers to be in. They really haven’t fared well when playing out here on the West Coast in their history, and this is going to be a tough battle for sure against a UCLA team that is trying to prove that it is legit. RB Johnathan Franklin rumbled for over 200 yards on the ground last week, and he averaged over 14 yards per carry. The defense might have allowed some points against Rice, but it also racked up seven sacks, more than any other FBS school of the 118 that played last week. Remember that last year alone, both Arizona State and Cal came into the Rose Bowl as favorites and walked away with defeats. We aren’t all that sure that the Bruins are ultimately going to be able to win this game outright, but we wouldn’t be shocked if they did. This is a tossup game in our eyes, and with the inconsistencies of QB Taylor Martinez apparent, we really don’t want to be laying five points with a team like this on the road.
Nebraska @ UCLA Pick: UCLA Bruins +5.5
Nebraska @ UCLA Score Prediction: Nebraska 27 – UCLA 24
