The Louisville bandwagon is about set to leave the station, and bringing Ohio into town to start off the season seems like a surefire way to a victory, right? Maybe the Cardinals should ask Penn State about how well it worked to bring in the Bobcats to start off the campaign… This Ohio team is no joke. Almost all of its major skill players from last season are back, and that includes QB Tyler Tettleton and RB Beau Blankenship, who ripped apart the Nittany Lions last year in Happy Valley. The Bobcats do have to retool in the trenches, and if they are going to get beaten and beaten badly in this game, this is the aspect of the game in which it will happen.
That said, we really don’t think all that much of Louisville at the moment either. Sure, QB Teddy Bridgewater is a Heisman Trophy candidate, and yes, that win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl last year really made this team and gave it a Top 10 start to the season in 2013. But are the Cardinals really one of the best 10 teams in America? We don’t think that they would be the 6th best team in the ACC, and we don’t think there is another major conference in America in which they would have the best squad. The AAC is really helping Louisville out, and it is majorly overrated in this one. The Bobcats could pull off the upset, but they are certainly going to stick inside of a three-touchdown spread.
Ohio vs. Louisville Pick: Ohio Bobcats +20.5
Ohio @ Louisville Score Prediction: Louisville 34 – Ohio 26
