The Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Syracuse Orange picks are some of the toughest to make on the 2013 NCAA football schedule, and today, we are making our college football picks and predictions and trying to beat the CFB odds here at Cappers Info.

Penn State vs. Syracuse Live TV Coverage: ABC or ESPN2

The biggest mystery here for the Nittany Lions and the Orange is who in the heck the quarterback is going to be for either side. Neither team has named its starting quarterback for this one, but the one common thread that we are seeing between the two teams is that there is going to be a lot of running the football and the hope of good defensive play on both sides. The Orange have a pair of backs in the backfield that combined for nearly 2,000 yards last season, while PSU’s RB Zach Zwinak had 1,000 yards on the ground as well. He is probably one of the only men in the Big Ten that we know is going to run the ball at least a dozen times every single night.

And now the question of all questions: Will these two teams be able to play defense? Neither has a particularly excellent defense returning to the fold from last year, though both did rank in the Top 50 in the land in rush defense. That’s what we’re going to go by in this one, especially early on in the campaign. Penn State has a history of starting games slowly, and we think that is going to end up being the case once again in this one. This is a low scoring game to be played in the 30s as we see it.

Penn State vs. Syracuse Pick: Under 51.5
Penn State @ Syracuse Score Prediction: Penn State 20 – Syracuse 19
