It’s not all that often that you see us get political here at Cappers Info, but we know that this is a game where politics can’t be ignored. A lot of the great men and women who are helping out this country by serving are being furloughed or being threatened to be furloughed, and that has put games for Air Force, Army, and Navy in jeopardy in each of the last two weeks. The Falcons have been sitting on edge wondering if the federal government is going to even let them play football, let alone anything else. This is going to serve as four hours where everyone can take their minds off of the garbage going on in Washington DC and enjoy a football game, and the truth of the matter is that, win or lose, this will be the best part of the week for anyone at the academy.
On the field, the Falcons haven’t been so stellar, as they have yet to beat a team out of the FBS this season. That said, the Aztecs have been living dangerously, barely beating Nevada or New Mexico State. This Air Force team probably isn’t as good as Nevada, but it is certainly better than New Mexico State. There’s a real chance to win this game outright, and it would be great for the Air Force Academy if it was able to get the job done and at least spread a little bit of joy over Colorado Springs. The Aztecs are overrated, and they are very public at this point, so don’t be shocked if they end up getting beaten on the road in the Rockies on Thursday night.
San Diego State vs. Air Force Pick: Air Force Falcons +4
San Diego State @ Air Force Score Prediction: Air Force 26 – San Diego State 21
