The Cardinal and the Huskies are both amongst the best teams in the Pac-12 this year, and this should be one of the real showcase games of the day. Both of these quarterbacks are flat out excellent, as both QB Kevin Hogan and QB Keith Price are Heisman Trophy contenders. Hogan didn’t play in last year’s game, while Price wasn’t really all that great, but it was that Washington defense that really did the job. Hogan has never lost a game as a starter in his career since taking over for QB Josh Nunes, who was atrocious in that game against this Washington outfit.
What we don’t understand though, is why this ‘total’ is so high. Yes, Stanford has a very efficient offense, but the team has one of the best and most underrated defenses in America. It’s not a mistake that three of the four Washington games this year have failed to reach the number, and though it is a shock to think that every team has scored at least 13 against this Stanford outfit, we know that that might not stay the case for much longer. This is a game that is going to stick into the 30s or the 40s as we see it, and we think that last year’s 30 total points was indicative of what this is going to shake up to be on Saturday.
