NFL Thanksgiving Thursday Week 13 Preview: Without QB Aaron Rodgers at the helm for the Green Bay Packers the NFC North has become the league’s most up for grabs division.  Two of the three five loss teams will square off on Thanksgiving to decide who has the upper hand.  Scott Tolzien had started the last two games for the Packers but they brought back Matt Flynn who led them to a sixteen point come back against Minnesota.  Coach Mike McCarthy says the team is uncertain as to who will get the start Thursday but we would be shocked if it wasn’t Matt Flynn after Tolzien was 0-3 with one touchdown and five interceptions in his chance as a starter.  Matt Flynn was Aaron Rodgers back up from 2008 to 2011 and landed a big contract with the Seahawks after setting Packer passing records against these same Lions last season.  Meanwhile, the Lions have been unable to capitalize on their soft schedule after losing two straight to Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, who have a combined 8-14 record.  The Lions have lost nine straight Thanksgiving games since beating the Packers in 2003.  Matt Stafford has been struggling mightily with four interceptions against Tampa Bay, despite the return of WR Nate Burleson who scored a touchdown and had 77 receiving yards last weekend.  The Packers are going to need to run the ball effectively against a Lions rush defense that is allowing only 88 yards per game if they’re going to be effective.  Since Aaron Rodgers was injured RB Eddie Lacy has gotten an increased workload and he will need to take some of the pressure off Tolzien or Flynn if Green Bay is going to win this game on the road.  Matt Stafford was sacked a season high five times in the Lions 22-9 loss at Green Bay in early October but the Lions offensive line has done a better job in recent weeks of keeping him upright.  The Lions will score some points at home in this contest and Green Bay will need Flynn to keep up if they’re going to win.
Packers at Lions Free NFL Picks: Green Bay +6 and over 49.5
Packers at Lions Game Prediction: 28-27 Packers
What to expect in this week 13 NFL match up:
Matt Stafford won’t look as bad as he has recently against a struggling Green Bay passing attack.  They will score a few times early in the game and force Green Bay to throw the football.  At first this may seeem like bad news for the Packers, but Matt Flynn has proven he has the arm to get his team back into this game.  Green Bay will take the lead in the second half but Matt Stafford will lead his team to yet another fourth quarter come from behind victory.
