Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams
Date and Time: Monday, 10/28/13 at 8:40pm on ESPN
Game Line: Seattle Seahawks -12.5 (from 5Dimes)
Sunday NFL Football Analysis: The Seattle Seahawks have looked like the class of the NFC and they’re on their way to their best start. Without Sam Bradford for the St. Louis Rams for the rest of the season, they should pose little threat to the Seahawks momentum. The Seahawks, who could get WR Percy Harvin back for this game, look for their 15th win in their last 17 games against the Rams on Monday Night football. The Seahawks dominating defense is second in the league in yards allowed and first in points, averaging only 16.6 points to opposing offenses. This should be a big problem for new Rams QB Kellen Clemens who is making his 13th NFL start. He has been Bradford’s back up for the last two seasons so he should have a good grasp of the offense but he is being thrown to the wolves playing the Seahawks defense on prime time in his first start. Seattle’s defensive front sacked Carson Palmer seven times last week and lead the league with 23 on the season. With a beat up offensive line and no running game to speak fo things are looking grim for the Rams offensively. Their lack of skill position, break out players who can move the chains are non-existent and they will have even more trouble moving the ball against this defense. The Rams do have a solid defense, especially against the run where Seattle likes to attack. Marshawn Lynch has been held under 100 yards rushing in his last three games against the Rams and they know they need to contain him if they’re going to have any chance of winning this game. The Rams even beat the Seahawks 19-13 late last season in a game where Russel Wilson was picked off three times. We see this as another boring, low scoring game with plenty of punting and defense, much like the Giants vs Vikings Monday Night football match up last week, with the Seahawks putting on a defensive showcase against a Rams offense that will really struggle.
Seattle Seahawks vs St. Louis Rams NFL Picks: Seattle Seahawks -12.5 and under 42.5
Seattle Seahawks vs St. Louis Rams Game Prediction: 27-10 Seahawks
What to expect in this NFL Football match up: There’s no chance the Rams offense catches lightning in a bottle this week. They’ve struggled against mediocre defenses, with their starting quarterback and they will struggle for any yardage with a back up quarterback against the best defense in the NFC. Their total lack of playmakers and reliable offensive weapons will allow the Seahawks defensive front to have their way with Kelen Clemens. Offensively, the Seahawks will use the run to set up the pass. Marshawn Lynch won’t have a career day against the Rams run defense but they will do enough to win this divisional game on the road easily.
