Week 1 Football Picks: San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers
Date: Sunday, September 9th, 4:25 ET
Location: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
NFL Betting Lines: Green Bay -5
49ers vs. Packers On TV: FOX

You have to go back to 1999 to find the last time that the 49ers beat the Packers, and that’s unbelievable to us. The Packers are 5-0-1 ATS in those games, too. That being said, this is going to be a bit of a different game. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh isn’t going to put up with penalties and mistakes, and he has the team with the better running game and the better defense for sure. Granted, QB Aaron Rodgers can beat any team in the league all by himself, and he proved it last year when the Packers went 15-1 in spite of the fact that they ranked dead last in the league defensively in many categories. Still, the formula that was set last year for winning in Lambeau Field with the Giants, and the 49ers arguably play a bigger, nastier brand of football than the G-Men did on the defensive side of the ball. We aren’t sure that this ends in an upset, but we do think that this is going to be a great game decided by a field goal either way.

49ers @ Packers Pick: San Francisco 49ers +5
San Francisco @ Green Bay Score Prediction: Green Bay 27 – San Francisco 24
