Bengals vs. Lions On TV: CBS
It’s odd to think that a game between the Bengals and the Lions is one of the best of the day, but there is no doubt whatsoever that that is the case. Both of these teams lead their respective divisions, and Detroit is tied with the Packers and the Bears atop the NFC North, and the Bengals are a game up on both the Browns and the Ravens in the AFC North. These two don’t play each other all that often, and the Lions haven’t won a game in this series at home since 1970. However, this is a huge game no less, and we think that the two defenses are going to end up shining as a result. Most remember that last week, QB Thad Lewis really lit this Bengals defense up in the fourth quarter, but if not for a long touchdown pass that probably should have never happened, the final score of that game was 24-17, and it went ‘under’ the ‘total’.
The Lions clearly don’t have the same offense without WR Calvin Johnson being healthy. He missed the game two weeks ago against Green Bay, and the end result was an ugly loss where just one touchdown was scored in the game for the Lions. He wasn’t quite healthy last week either, and the only reason that Detroit was in a position to score 31 points was because of the fact that the Cleveland offense was abysmal. The offense ran 72 plays, a heaping number for sure. Cincinnati isn’t going to be that bad offensively for sure. The Bengals had a good game last week, and they do have an efficient offense. However, the vertical game is lacking without WR AJ Green making those spectacular catches that we are used to seeing him make. He has just two TDs since Week 1,and the offense has only had one game in regulation with more than 24 points scored. This will be a game that gets into the mid-40s and no more in Week 7.
