The oddsmakers think that they have pulled a nice trick on us here, but we aren’t buying into it. The Colts had always looked terrible in the preseason under Head Coach Tony Dungy because the starters rarely played in those games. They looked a lot better last year thanks to the fact that QB Andrew Luck and the starters, who turned out to be pretty darn good, played a lot more than the average group of starters in the NFL preseason. We aren’t all that certain that Head Coach Chuck Pagano is going to let his starters go for all that long in this one. Meanwhile in Buffalo, QB Kevin Kolb is hurting, and that leaves only a pair of rookies in QB EJ Manuel and QB Jeff Tuel. Normally speaking, that would be a recipe for a disaster, but we think that this is going to be a tremendous opportunity to back the underdogs. Remember that in the second half of the game, we expect to see QB Chandler Harnish for the Colts, and that’s not a good sign in all likelihood. Remember how Harnish and his Northern Illinois Huskies struggled against the Florida State Seminoles in the Orange Bowl this year? We have to think that Harnish is going to have issues going against the NFL’s best, even if this is only a bunch of reserves that he is going against.
