Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos
Date and Time: Sunday, 11/17/13 at 8:30pm on NBC
Game Line: Denver Broncos -8.5 (from JustBet)
Sunday NFL Football Analysis: Peyton Manning and Dwayne Bow are both expected to play in this contest though Peyton is dealing with a sore ankle and Bowe was arrested this week. Manning will face a defense that has a league best 36 sacks this season with Justin Houston and Tamba Hali combining for 20 of those. Denver has given up 8 sacks in their last two games and left tackle Chris Clark has been a liability all season so there’s a decent chance he will only make his ankle worse during this game and without him the Chiefs chances go way up. With four touchdowns and 330 yards against San Diego last week, Manning is still on pace to set NFL records for yards in both categories. The Kansas City Chiefs come into this game off a bye week so they have had extra time to prepare for Manning and the high powered Bronco passing attack. They certainly have the cover corners and strong front seven to contain the Denver offense but moving the ball and scoring enough points will be their biggest concern. Running back Jamaal Charles will see a very heavy workload against a Denver defense that hasn’t seen many teams even try to run the ball against them. Charles has done very well against the Broncos in his career averaging 125 yards per game in his last five against his division foe. Andy Reid, Chiefs coach, has historically been great coming off bye weeks. While he was in Philadelphia he won 13 consecutive games after a bye week so it will be interesting to see what offensive and defensive schemes he comes up with. The Chiefs defense is good enough to contain Denver but their offense is going to have to score in the 20’s for this to be a game they can win. No defense is good enough to contain this Bronco offense for four quarters and Kansas City doesn’t have the offense to keep up on the scoreboard.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Game Prediction: 31-21 Denver Broncos
What to expect in this NFL Football match up: Aside from 4 or 5 big plays, the Denver offense will be largely contained in this game. Peyton won’t go over 300 yards and their offense will look rusty against a Chiefs defense with a few tricks up their sleeves. Offensively, Kansas City just won’t be able to keep up in the second half. The teams that can beat the Broncos are the ones that score into the 30s on occasion and Kansas City just isn’t that team. If Denver can weather the storm in the first half and Peyton make a few halftime adjustments they will win this game handedly.
