Eagles at Colts Monday Night NFL Football Analysis: The Philadelphia Eagles had a much needed comeback victory in their season opener despite losing a pair of offensive line men to an already shorthanded squad. With their retooled offensive line, the Eagles will try for a rare 2-0 start Monday night when they visit a Colts team attempting to avoid its second 0-2 start in 16 seasons. Philadelphia’s week one didn’t look promising when they trailed 17-0 at home against Jacksonville. They also played the second half without all-pro left guard Evin Mathis and right tackle Allen Barbre but the replacements provided enough protection for Nick Foles quick turnaround in a 34-17 win. Foles fumbled twice and an interception in the first 20 minutes, nearly matching his four turnovers from last season. He finished strong, however, completing 15 of 21 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns in the second half. The Eagles will try to use the momentum from that victory for their third 2-0 start since 1993. They won their first two games in 2012 and their first seven in 2004. The Eagles weren’t going to have to face Robert Mathis, who had a career high 19.5 sacks last season, because he’s serving a four game suspension for performance enhancing drugs. Now, the rest of the league likely won’t have to as well after he tore his Achilles tendon during a private workout in Atlanta. The Colts, who totaled 42 sacks in 2013 to tie for 11th in the NFL, confirmed Thursday that he’s out for the season. This will be a high scoring shootout with both quarterbacks eyeing weak defensive backfields on the opposing side. LeSean McCoy, who was kept out of the end zone in week 1, will prove to be the difference maker as he will get a steady dose of carries and screen plays. If the Eagles can control time of possession and avoid falling behind early and becoming one dimensional they should have no problem getting a win on the road against a highly questionable defense.

Philadelphia Eagles at Indianapolis Colts Game Prediction: 30-21 Eagles
What to expect in this Week 2 NFL Football match up: These two teams are fairly comparable throwing the football. They both do it a lot, both will have adequate time to throw the ball and both like to spread it around to multiple receivers, running backs and tight ends. Indianapolis and Philadelphia will execute in the passing game but it will be Philadelphia’s rushing attack that proves to be the difference in this one. The Colts don’t have an explosive running back and one who can sustain a drive and find the end zone the way LeSean McCoy can and after a quiet week one, expect him to be a difference maker in Monday Night Football.
