Sunday NFL Football Analysis: The Dallas Cowboys will look to stay atop the NFC East when they host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off an impressive performance last Sunday night. The Cowboys got a little revenge for their Thanksgiving Day loss at home against Philadelphia. Tony Romo connected with Dez Bryant on three touchdown passes en route to a 37–28 win. DeMarco Murray, who has somewhat carried his team this season was held to 81 yards, averaging just 2.6 yards per carry. The Dallas defense made some noise and made plays when they had to, sucking Philadelphia quarterback Mark Sanchez four times and had a total of six tackles for a loss.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a 17–10 win over Houston. With that win, the Colts clinched the AFC South division and in all likelihood will be a 3 or 4 seed. In his third NFL season, Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck continues to improve. Luck has completed 61% of his passes for 4492 yards with 38 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has really come into his own this year with 1345 yards and seven touchdowns. The Colts defense is allowing 351 yards per game and allowing 22.6 points per game.
I’m recommending a play on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Apparently, DeMarco Murray will play after having surgery on his hand this week. The question is how effective will he be? The average bettor will look at this line and think of this as a gift, and they’ll think that DeMarco Murray won’t be 100%. Well, I like the Cowboys with or without DeMarco Murray. I don’t know where the motivation will be for the Colts, who just clinched the division and have little to play for. Dallas on the other hand, has a ton to play for, and I really think that the rest of the team, including the offensive line, Will step up their performance. Indianapolis has been suspect when it comes to stopping the run, and I think Dallas can be extremely effective doing so with either Murray or back up Julius Randle. I’ll lay the points with the Cowboys on Sunday; this isn’t the same Dallas team that’s going to tank at the end of the year.
