Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
Date and Time: Monday 9/16/13 at 8:30pm on ESPN
Game Line: Cincinnati Bengals -7.5 (from 5Dimes)
Preview: This Monday night game features two teams that could have played much better in week one. The Steelers offense was abysmal at home in a loss against Tennessee, a trend we think will continue going forward. You can’t help but feel bad for QB Ben Roethlisburger who is playing without his starting center and no perimeter weapons to speak of. Their running game leaves a lot to be desired as well, with LaRod Stephens-Howling and Le’Veon Bell both out with injuries they will be relying on Isaac Redman who did little in his first game. While Pittsburgh’s offense looked as bad as expected, Cincinnati collapsed in a game they should have won. In a second half full of penalties and turnovers they opened the door for Chicago to sneak out a victory. WR AJ Green was great as advertised, but he’s going to need some help going forward if Cincinnati is going to make the playoffs as we projected before the season. If they’re going to sustain any success in 2013 they’re going to have to find a running game. Rookie RB Giovani Bernard did not impress in his first game and it has been well documented that BenJarvis Green-Ellis is not a premiere back in the league. Their defense should see success and they have a substantial advantage offensively with AJ Green alone giving them one more playmaker than Pittsburgh. This going to be a long season for the Steelers and it continues this week.

Steelers at Bengals Game Prediction: 24-6 Bengals
What to expect in this week 2 NFL matchup: More of the same from the Steelers offense. If they couldn’t get anything going against the Titans defense, we doubt they will be much better against the Bengals. Heath Miller will return for the Steelers, and he will surely be Roethlisburger’s favorite target this week but without anything else, their offense will still fall short. Pittsburgh has the defense to contain Cincinnati, but a few big plays is all you need to beat this years version of the Steelers. There will be plenty of penalties and turnovers again from both offenses in an ugly low scoring game that will see the Bengals come out on top.
