The Panthers have a real opportunity to make a statement here in the third preseason game against the defending Super Bowl champs, and we think that they are going to take it. Yes, Baltimore on paper probably has the better team, and that will probably come into play here in the first half when both teams are playing relatively full out, but we also think that there is something fishy here about this line. The Panthers haven’t looked good in the whole preseason, and QB Cam Newton, for one, has looked terrible. None of the quarterbacks have completed anywhere near 60% of their passes, and the offense has looked shoddy at best. That said, we think that Baltimore is doing more experimenting than anything else. Head Coach John Harbaugh is going to keep this one close to the vest, while Head Coach Ron Rivera very well could be going for it to send a message that his team is ready to rock and roll. Look for Carolina’s offense to pick it up a notch, as there will be some truly exciting plays on the offensive side of the ball to spark the mild upset.

Panthers @ Ravens Pick: Carolina Panthers +3
Panthers @ Ravens Score Prediction: Carolina 23 – Baltimore 20
